I’m a big fan of 30 minutes meals with Rachel Ray… Not because I like her cooking per se, but because people rather have Junk Food for lunch than take 20 minutes to make a really good meal.
I understand that not everybody works from home, but most meals can be made the night before and just tossed in the Microwave.
Menu :: Wild Mushroom Ravioli topped with a light Garlic, Oregano, Rosemary butter sauce and Cubed avocado.

If there is one thing that makes me happy doing at home… It has to be cooking. I could honestly spend all day cooking, whether in the kitchen or outside in the grill.
A few weeks ago, I bought myself a Stove Top Grill and I’m in love with that thing… I can make anything on it… Burgers, Steaks, Vegetables, pancakes and more…
The following meal was actually conceived while on a conference call last week, so I headed out to the supermarket, got all the major ingredients and voila!
And for those expecting Avocados… YES, there is avocado in this meal as well!

RAYMEDphotography is all about helping the community and this time is NO different…
For the remaining of August and the whole month of September 2011, RAYMEDphotography will be donating 50% of the profits to the LIVEStrong and Joe DiMaggio Children Hospital through a great event sponsored by zMotion.org. Read more about the event here.
We all know someone with or someone that had Cancer, why not give a little to help find the cure or even help these great human beings get some of the medication that they need in order to prolong their life. We all can help and why not do it while getting something in return.
I personally, lost both of my parents to this decease and wish that one day, we can actually find the cure… But I can’t do it alone, WE ALL NEED YOU!
You can schedule a portrait session, buy an Fine Art print, or purchase some addition portrait prints and 50% of the profits will go as fundraising efforts for this amazing event.
If you are interested and would like to schedule your session, use this form and enter promo code: LIVElongLiveStrong and I’ll get back with you.
To purchase any of my Fine Art prints, please visit my gallery @ http://www.raymedphotography.com/portfolio/fineart/index.htm and make your selection there.
One last option for you to be involved. If you don’t want to schedule a portrait session or don’t need to purchase a Fine Art print, feel free to go to http://livelong.kintera.org/rayray and donate as little as $5 dollars. Every little bit helps and I know I can count on my followers

Last week, I decided to venture into making something I have never done, but that I always loved eating. I decided to venture into making Ceviche (The dish is typically made from fresh raw fish marinated in citrus juices such as lemon or lime)
Enjoy!

While I was in Iowa City, I took the time to walk in downtown and make some photographs, but the ones I want to share with you are not from actual downtown.
I had dinner at this local pizza joint called The Wedge. This place has the best pizza I have had in a very long time.
This is not a sit-down joint, you order and they bring the food out to you. So, I ordered the Veggie Verde small pizza (Our house basil pesto sauce, spinach, mushrooms, red onions, black olive, garlic, roasted red peppers with mozzarella and fresh grated parmesan cheese.)
The Wedge is just minutes away from the University of Iowa and therefore, this place and the whole downtown is jammed packed with college students at all times. You see them enjoying a pizza, sandwich or simply a cup of coffee while they are finishing a paper in their laptops or even just surfing the web or Social Media sites.
This time, I didn’t actually talked to any of the locals, I simple sat back and watched and soaked it all in.
So if you are ever in Iowa City and would like to sit at a local place, enjoy a great pizza and check the local scene, check this place out. The Wedge http://www.thewedgepizza.com/downtown.php#

Hi all – Like I mentioned in my “While Traveling…” post, I have created a few projects and this is just one of them.
This project will consist of multiple bodies of work. It will consist to learn about some of the cultures in my own state. Here in the South Florida area, we have multiple cultures that we tend to dismiss for whatever reason. I believe that learning about different cultures and spend some time with them will make me a better person for it and will definitely understand where they are coming from.
(Above picture was taken at the Hamburg Inn :: Located at 214 North Linn Street, Iowa City)
Although I was born in the US, my parents are Dominican and I was raised there as well. I still believe that there is a whole lot that I can still learn from my own culture and maybe apply some of it to my daily life.
Project will be presented as essays on my blog and possibly distributed as PDF’s eBooks.
Some of the cultures to be explored in this project are as follows (in no particular order):
-
Cuban
-
Dominican
-
Haitian
- Jewish
- Puerto Rican
- and more….
These are just a few to mention. If you would like me to learn about your culture in the South Florida area, please feel free to drop me a note.
Note: This project is not only a satisfying creative outlet for my own photographic life… I want this project to be a community project. I’ll be reaching out to the community through my Facebook and Twitter for individuals who love Food, Culture, and Photography.

After viewing some of the images that one of my favorite photographers of today, I have been inspired to follow his foot steps with this project and photograph those moments where we find ourselves #attached to our gadgets.
There are times where we get so #attached to our gadgets that moments passes us by and we tend to disconnect from the real world… Mind you, I do have those moments just like you and I’m not saying it’s wrong, I’m just saying that there are times where we should look around and enjoy what life and it’s moments as screwy, exciting, beautiful, or as strange as they might be.
You’ll be surprise of the wonderful things you will see if ONLY you get detached for just a moment or two.
A new web gallery of this project will be hosted on my site soon and prints will be for sale as well. I have not put an end date to this project, but eventually, I’ll be putting out a photo book with all or at least a big majority of the photographs.
~ Enjoy
