Last week, I decided to venture into making something I have never done, but that I always loved eating. I decided to venture into making Ceviche (The dish is typically made from fresh raw fish marinated in citrus juices such as lemon or lime)
While I was in Iowa City, I took the time to walk in downtown and make some photographs, but the ones I want to share with you are not from actual downtown.
I had dinner at this local pizza joint called The Wedge. This place has the best pizza I have had in a very long time.
This is not a sit-down joint, you order and they bring the food out to you. So, I ordered the Veggie Verde small pizza (Our house basil pesto sauce, spinach, mushrooms, red onions, black olive, garlic, roasted red peppers with mozzarella and fresh grated parmesan cheese.)
The Wedge is just minutes away from the University of Iowa and therefore, this place and the whole downtown is jammed packed with college students at all times. You see them enjoying a pizza, sandwich or simply a cup of coffee while they are finishing a paper in their laptops or even just surfing the web or Social Media sites.
This time, I didn’t actually talked to any of the locals, I simple sat back and watched and soaked it all in.
So if you are ever in Iowa City and would like to sit at a local place, enjoy a great pizza and check the local scene, check this place out. The Wedge http://www.thewedgepizza.com/downtown.php#
Again, this is me in my home studio taking photographs of my favorite thing.. Food photography. I have become obsessed photographing food lately and I truly enjoy it.

This image was taken in a beautiful hidden place in South Florida. I would give you the exact location, but if I do, I will have all of you in my backyard
Yes, that’s right, this image was created in my backyard with just a few home items. Water droplets were created with a water hose in sprinkler mode, a Canon Speedlight 580EX and a shoot through umbrella to camera left.
